Collaborative Law

Collaborative Law Attorney

The Collaborative Law process is the newest dispute resolution method in Illinois. Both parties retain separate, specially trained attorneys whose only job is to help them settle the case. If an agreement is not reached, the attorneys are disqualified from representing the parties in litigation.

The Collaborative Law process offer a greater potential for creative problem solving than traditional litigation. Through a series of four way conferences, the parties and their attorneys identify the parties' goals and concerns and develop personalized plans to meet and address those goals and concerns.

The goal in Collaborative Law is to find win-win solutions to the legitimate needs of both clients.

Alexandra M. Goddard is a specially trained attorney and is a Fellow in the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
