Rap star renegotiates child support and child custody agreement

The rapper, who goes by the stage name Future, has entered into a settlement with the mother of his son over several child custody and child support matters. The rapper agreed to pay more child support money to his ex in exchange for her moving to a new area, where their son could attend a better school. Future is the father of four children by different women, the most recent of which he had with his current fiancee.

The musician, who is known for singing "Turn on the Lights," agreed to pay nearly double the amount of child support (approximately $1,200 monthly) that he was previously paying. One of the ex-couple's disagreements that were resolved in the settlement also included how they were going to divide holiday time with their son in the future.

This case is an excellent example of how Illinois ex-couples can achieve various goals during child support and/or child custody negotiations by either agreeing to pay more or receive less child support. Indeed, a father may agree to pay more in monthly child support if his ex-wife agrees to live closer to him with their children. Conversely, a mother or father may reach an agreement about what school the child is going to attend or how to divide holiday time.

Child custody, child support and visitation disagreements are always less expensive and less emotionally exhausting when they can be resolved by way of an out-of-court settlement. However, in some situations, a court case is unavoidable and legal arguments can be employed during litigation to ensure that both parents are treated equally and the best interest of the child or children is preserved.
